Boat Bill of Sale Overview

When buying or selling a boat, used or new, a written bill of sale is essential. This will transfer the ownership rights of the watercraft and outline the terms of the sale between parties. It also acts as a proof of purchase for the buyer and proof of payment for the seller. The document should include itemized prices of the watercraft and any motor(s) or trailer(s) included in the transfer of title. It should only be signed when the boat has been delivered by the seller and the funds have been secured from the buyer.
